Roblox Premium vs. Roblox Plus: What Existing Subscribers Need to Know
If you still have an active Roblox Premium membership, you do not have to switch to Roblox Plus.
Roblox stopped selling new Premium memberships on April 30, 2026, but existing Premium subscribers can keep their memberships. The important catch is that Premium is now effectively a grandfathered subscription: if you cancel it, you cannot subscribe to Premium again.
That makes the decision more important than a normal plan comparison.
Premium and Plus are separate subscriptions with different benefits. Premium still provides its existing subscribers with a monthly Robux stipend, while the standard Roblox Plus subscription focuses on discounts and other platform benefits instead. You can also have Premium and Plus active at the same time.
Before canceling Premium to try Plus, understand exactly what you would be giving up.
The Short Answer
Here is the most important difference for an existing Premium subscriber:
Keep Premium if your monthly Robux stipend is one of the main reasons you subscribe.
Consider Roblox Plus if you value discounts on eligible purchases, private-server access, free Robux transfers, or its other newer benefits.
You can have both Premium and Plus at the same time.
Do not cancel Premium just to test Plus unless you are comfortable permanently giving up your ability to renew Premium.
If you want Plus and monthly Robux together, Roblox also offers Plus 500, Plus 1000, and Plus 2000 bundles.
There is no automatic requirement for an existing Premium subscriber to move to Plus.
What Happened to Roblox Premium?
Roblox launched Roblox Plus on April 30, 2026 and stopped accepting new Roblox Premium sign-ups at the same time.
Existing Premium memberships were not automatically converted into Plus.
According to Roblox Support, Premium and Plus are separate subscriptions, and an existing Premium subscriber can have both memberships active at once.
Roblox also changed some Premium benefits beginning May 30, 2026.
Existing Premium subscribers continue to receive:
Their monthly Robux stipend based on their Premium plan.
The ability to trade and resell eligible items.
Avatar-item publishing and selling benefits for qualifying Premium 1000 and Premium 2200 memberships.
However, two former Premium benefits ended:
The 10% bonus on additional Robux purchases.
The Premium profile logo.
The biggest change is not simply the reduced benefit list. It is what happens if you leave Premium.
Once an existing Premium membership is canceled, Roblox says you cannot resubscribe to Premium.
Roblox Premium vs. Roblox Plus
Benefit → Existing Roblox Premium → Roblox Plus
Available to new subscribers→ No→ Yes
Monthly Robux included→ Yes, based on existing Premium plan→ No with standard Plus
Optional plan with monthly Robux→ Existing Premium plan→ Plus 500, Plus 1000, and Plus 2000 bundles
Discount on eligible in-game and avatar purchases→ No→ 10%, increasing to 20% starting with the third consecutive month
Free private servers→ No general Plus-style benefit→ Yes, for supported games
Send Robux without platform fees→ No→ Yes, subject to Roblox eligibility and safety requirements

Can you return after canceling?→ No new Premium subscription→ Plus can currently be purchased by eligible users
The two plans overlap in some areas, but they are not simply old and new versions of the same membership.
The Biggest Difference: Monthly Robux
For many existing Premium members, this is the deciding factor.
Roblox Premium continues to provide a monthly Robux stipend based on the subscriber's existing plan.
The standard Roblox Plus subscription does not include monthly Robux.
Instead, Roblox offers optional bundles:
Plus 500: Roblox Plus plus 500 recurring monthly Robux.
Plus 1000: Roblox Plus plus 1,000 recurring monthly Robux.
Plus 2000: Roblox Plus plus 2,000 recurring monthly Robux.
That means you should not assume that replacing Premium with the standard Plus membership will preserve your monthly Robux.
If the main reason you have kept Premium is to receive Robux automatically each month, compare that benefit carefully before canceling.
What Roblox Plus Gives You Instead
Roblox Plus shifts more of the subscription's value toward benefits used while spending, playing, trading, or creating.
Discounts on Eligible Purchases
Plus subscribers receive a 10% discount on eligible in-game and avatar purchases.
Starting with the subscriber's third consecutive month, that discount increases to 20%.
There are exclusions. Roblox says the discount does not apply to certain purchases and fees, including items priced above 1 million Robux, resold items, advertising credit, UGC publishing fees, and certain group fees.
Private Servers
Plus includes access to free private servers in supported games.
There is also an announced change worth knowing about. Roblox currently says that starting September 24, 2026, the Plus private-server benefit will transition to one free private server per game.
If a Plus subscriber has multiple free Plus-provided private servers in one game, Roblox says the extras will begin expiring at that point. Private servers purchased separately outside the Plus benefit are unaffected.
Because this change is scheduled after this article's August 2026 verification date, it should be rechecked before or after September 24.
Free Robux Transfers
Plus subscribers can send Robux directly to other users without platform fees when Roblox's eligibility requirements are met.
Roblox applies age-verification and safety requirements to transfers, so this should not be treated as an unrestricted transfer feature for every account.
Trading and Avatar Marketplace Benefits
Plus also provides access to trading and reselling eligible avatar items.
For creators, Plus can satisfy Roblox's subscription requirement for publishing and maintaining avatar assets on the Marketplace. Some existing Premium 1000 and Premium 2200 subscribers retain qualifying publishing benefits as well.
Should Existing Premium Subscribers Keep Premium?
There is no single answer for every account, but existing Premium subscribers should be cautious about canceling.
Premium may still make sense if:
You value the monthly Robux stipend.
Your existing Premium benefits fit the way you use Roblox.
You do not need Plus-specific discounts or private-server benefits enough to replace what Premium gives you.
You want to preserve access to a membership that can no longer be purchased again after cancellation.
The last point deserves extra attention.
Premium is no longer an ordinary subscription you can cancel today and restart later.
If you cancel, Roblox says the option to resubscribe will no longer be available.
When Roblox Plus May Make More Sense
Plus may be more useful if you regularly spend Robux on eligible in-game or avatar purchases and can benefit from its 10% to 20% discount.
It may also appeal more if you frequently use supported private servers or qualify for and want to use free Robux transfers.
And if you want both Plus benefits and recurring monthly Robux, the Plus 500, Plus 1000, and Plus 2000 bundles provide another option.
The important point is to compare the benefits you actually use rather than assuming Plus is an automatic upgrade from Premium.
Can You Have Roblox Premium and Roblox Plus at the Same Time?
Yes.
Roblox explicitly says an existing Premium membership and a Roblox Plus subscription can be active at the same time.
That means an existing Premium subscriber does not necessarily have to make an immediate either-or decision.
If keeping Premium is important, adding Plus is different from canceling Premium and replacing it with Plus.
Just remember that maintaining two subscriptions can also mean paying for two recurring memberships. Review your active subscriptions and renewal dates so you know what you are paying for.
You can check active Roblox subscriptions under:
Settings > Subscriptions
Roblox says this area displays information such as renewal and expiration dates for active subscriptions.
Be Careful With a Failed Premium Renewal
Cancellation is not the only way an existing subscriber could lose Premium.
Roblox says most Premium renewals are completed within 24 hours of the renewal date. If a renewal cannot be completed, Roblox may make additional attempts during the following 72 hours.
If those attempts fail, the Premium membership is canceled.
Because new Premium subscriptions are no longer available, Roblox says you will not be able to resubscribe after that cancellation.
For someone who wants to preserve Premium, it is worth checking the subscription's renewal date and payment status before a problem occurs.
What If You Cancel Premium?
You can still cancel a recurring Premium membership.
Roblox says that after cancellation, you continue receiving the membership benefits for the remainder of the period you already paid for.
After that period expires, however, you cannot purchase Premium again.
Depending on where you originally subscribed, cancellation may also need to be handled through the original billing provider. For example, Premium purchased through Apple or Google Play is managed through the corresponding app-store subscription system.
Do not cancel Premium simply because you see Roblox Plus available in your account unless you have decided that you no longer want to preserve Premium.
What If You Already Canceled Premium?
If the Premium membership has already expired after cancellation, Roblox's current policy says Premium is no longer available for a new subscription.
Your current alternatives include the standard Roblox Plus subscription or one of the Plus bundles that combines Plus with recurring monthly Robux.
Check Settings > Subscriptions first if you are unsure whether your Premium membership is still active or merely scheduled to expire.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Roblox Premium automatically becoming Roblox Plus?
No. Roblox Premium and Roblox Plus are separate subscriptions. Existing Premium subscribers can continue Premium rather than being automatically converted to Plus.
Can I keep Roblox Premium?
Yes, if you are an existing subscriber with an active membership. Roblox stopped new Premium purchases on April 30, 2026, but existing memberships may continue.
What happens if I cancel Roblox Premium now?
You retain the benefits for the remainder of the period you already paid for. Once the membership expires, however, you cannot resubscribe to Premium under Roblox's current policy.
Does Roblox Plus give you monthly Robux?
The standard Roblox Plus subscription does not include a monthly Robux stipend.
Roblox also offers Plus 500, Plus 1000, and Plus 2000 bundles, which combine the Plus subscription with the corresponding amount of recurring monthly Robux.
Do existing Premium members still receive monthly Robux?
Yes. Roblox says existing Premium members continue receiving their monthly Robux stipend according to their existing plan.
Does Premium still give 10% more Robux when you buy Robux?
No. Roblox ended the Premium 10% bonus on additional Robux purchases on May 30, 2026.
Can I subscribe to Plus without canceling Premium?
Yes. Roblox says Premium and Plus can be active on the same account at the same time.
Which is better: Roblox Premium or Roblox Plus?
It depends on how you use Roblox.
For an existing subscriber who mainly values a monthly Robux stipend, Premium may still be valuable. Plus may be more useful for someone who values eligible-purchase discounts, supported private servers, free Robux transfers, or its other platform benefits.
The unusual part of this comparison is that Premium cannot simply be restored if you change your mind after canceling.
Before You Cancel Premium, Check These Three Things
If you are an existing Premium subscriber considering Plus, review these before making a change:
Check your current Premium plan and monthly Robux stipend.
Decide which Plus benefits you would actually use.
Remember that canceling Premium is effectively a one-way decision under Roblox's current policy.
You do not have to cancel Premium in order to subscribe to Plus.
For some existing subscribers, keeping Premium may be worth more than switching. For others, Plus or a Plus-and-Robux bundle may better match how they use Roblox today.
The important thing is to compare the benefits before giving up a Premium membership you cannot get back.
